A three-page "Delhi Solar Agenda" issued at the end of the conference stated that the ISA reiterated its commitment to the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development that calls for eradication of poverty in all its forms and dimensions and for transforming our world in which development and application of technology are climate-sensitive, respect biodiversity and are resilient. The interim secretariat of the ISA is in the campus of National Institute of Solar Energy in Gwalpahari, Haryana. Taking a dig at US President Donald Trump, Macron said these nations continued their mission to promote solar energy even after "some countries decided just to leave the floor and leave the Paris agreement". "India will produce 175 GW electricity from renewable sources by 2022 and 100 GW will be from solar energy", Mr. Modi said, addressing the ISA. And we decided all together to act ... "There is an vast opportunity at hand to bring its benefits to more and more countries around the world", said Amin. Our solar mamas didn't wait for us.

"They made a decision to act and keep acting, and that's why we are here, in order to act very concretely".

To promote solar power, Modi also outlined 10 action points including increasing solar power in the energy mix, ensuring availability of better and cheaper solar power for all, concessional financing for solar projects, and creating a network of centres of excellence. They began to act and achieve concrete results.

India and France were standing ahead of the line when 195 nations signed the landmark Paris [Climate] Agreement, in which there was global consensus to work towards limiting global warming to two degrees Celsius by 2100.

The Founding Conference of ISA, co-chaired by PM Modi and President Macron, is taking place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Center in New Delhi and is being attended by heads of state and government, ministers, heads of worldwide organisations and other high-level officials. They didn't wait and they didn't stop because some countries chose to just leave the floor and leave the Paris Agreement.

3 killed, several injured in fire at chemical factory in Maharashtra
Tarapur MIDC was the most important, as there are around 1,100 chemical units which store hazardous and flammable chemicals here. The Tarapur Atomic Power Station is 20 km west of where the blaze occurred and was not affected by it, the MIDC official said.

The ISA, an intergovernmental body established in 2015 on the sidelines of the Paris Climate Change Conference, aims to support sunshine-rich countries in harnessing solar energy at an affordable cost. It has 60 signatories, with 30 of those countries having ratified the agreement.

"Because they decided it was good for them, for their children, their grandchildren".

India's wind power generation capacity is 32.8 GW.

Tirumurti said the ISA was attended by 21 heads of states and heads of government, several top ministers and bureaucrats, apart from participants from multilateral banks, and the United Nations.

The Joint Declaration affirms the commitment of the IRENA and ISA to collaborate on advancing solar deployment and projects through helping countries develop policies and regulations around solar energy and through the implementation of IRENA initiatives such as the Clean Energy Corridors and the SIDS Lighthouses.
