A terrorist was killed in retaliatory operations after a joint motor vehicle patrolling party came under attack in Pinjoora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district today, reported ANI.

However, the Army alleged that they were over-ground workers of a militant outfit and were accompanying Dar. "Police has reached the spot and started legal formalities", a statement from the army said.

The Army said his three accomplices, whom the spokesman described as "over-ground workers", were also "found dead" in the auto apparently used by the militant.

Militants fired at the mobile vehicle check post of the security forces at Pohan in Shopian around 8 pm that led to a gunfight. While the security forces said the three others killed were associates of the terrorist, locals have alleged they were civilians killed in army firing.

Security Lockdown at White House
The Secret Service also tweeted that pedestrian and vehicular traffic around the White House has been affected by the incident. President Donald Trump, who is at his resort in Florida, was informed about the shooting, according to news reports.

The army has confirmed the incident. The identities of the three persons are being ascertained.

The killed terrorist has been identified as Shahid Ahmad Dar and a weapon has been recovered from him.

Meanwhile, a massive cordon and search operation has also been launched in south Kashmir's Shopian district.

But local residents alleged that this was the second time this year that civilians have been killed in army firing and the incident could spark unrest.
