For owners of the PlayStation 4 Pro, this update adds a new supersampling mode. "In addition, the family manager/guardians can choose whether or not to automatically log the child out of their PS4 once their playtime is over".
The biggest feature we'll be able to see in PS4 Update 5.50 is the play time management which will let parents create the ideal timetable for their kids to play their favorite game. If you want to cut your kids' screen time, you can put restrictions on how long they can play or limit play time to certain hours.
Family managers/guardians have the option to add extra game time through their smartphone or PC.
Find some great PS4 themes and wallpapers online. You can import images from a USB device, and you'll even be able to make adjustments like crop, zoom and so on to fit the dashboard. Once the software goes live for everyone, you'll finally be able to change your PS4 wallpaper to an image from a USB stick, and do the same to customize a tournament or Team page. To set your logo and background, head over to Events Teams select your team Edit Team Profile. There will be a PS Plus tab in your library, so you can see what games you own from the PS Plus' Monthly Free Games. The "This PS4" tab lists all the applications that are installed on the PS4 system, and the tab with your name/avatar lists all the apps that you purchased with your PSN ID.
Here's what's coming with PS4's big 5.50 update
Users will also be allowed to hide certain apps under the "Purchased" tab by pressing "Options", including betas, trials or demos that they would prefer not to be shown. And if you were looking for custom audio loadouts, according to Sony, you'll be able to do this easily through the Headset Companion App.
Several new quick-menu enhancements will be added, including accessing specific friends from a custom list as well as additional audio controls when using Spotify or the USB music player.
This feature grants users the ability to delete old notifications by pressing the triangle or "Options" button to open a menu that allows selection of single or multiple notifications for deletion. Background music may occasionally be unavailable, similar to when playing a game locally on the PS4.
"...those with HDTVs (i.e., 1080p or less) to enjoy an enhanced visual experience when playing some PS4 games".
"Please note performance will vary, as games are optimised differently to take advantage of the power of the PS4 Pro".
