Sky Sports reported that the Premier League leaders made a cash-plus-player offer worth around £65m ($92m) for Mahrez on 31 January, but it fell short of Leicester's valuation of £95m.

Riyad Mahrez is hoping to become a Manchester City player before the 11pm deadline.

While Arsenal have constructed a new attack recently with the signings of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, they'd benefit from a player of Mahrez's style.

He was crowned players' player of the year during Leicester's remarkable title-winning campaign in 2015-16, scoring 17 Premier League goals, and then signed a four-year deal to help lead their Champions League charge.

'It's a tough situation for us and we need manage it but after this transfer window it is important to move on and keep our focus on the game.

Mahrez's stellar displays reminded the footballing world of the importance of widemen with his breaks on the counter, dribbling and finishing making him a class apart. May he come back to us in great shape.

Nintendo Switch Online is finally happening
Nintendo also said these games will have added online functionality, but what that means exactly remains unclear. When the Nintendo Switch first hit the market it seemed fun, but also kind of odd.

Leicester City manager Claude Puel has said that Riyad Mahrez will miss their clash with Swansea City on Saturday.

In the midst off all of this drama, Mahrez had suddenly decided that he no longer wanted to be a Leicester player and duly handed in a transfer request, just as he did last summer.

According to Paul Hetherington of the Daily Star Sunday, the Gunners will join Manchester City in the hunt for the Algeria global at the end of the season.

Leicester did play some decent stuff and the fans took to Twitter to show their encouragement at the display, with midfielder Marc Albrighton coming in for particular praise. "All I can say about the situation is that this is the best decision for Leicester, in the best interests of Leicester". The Gunners have been linked with a move for Mahrez on a number of occasions in the past, but chose to focus their attentions on the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan instead.

"And we must not forget that there are the games of the national team (that will come soon) and a preparation".
