That makes "Black Panther" - directed and co-written by 31-year-old Ryan Coogler ("Creed") with co-writer Joe Robert Cole and starring Chadwick Boseman - the most well-received superhero film ever, Marvel or otherwise. In an interview with Empire, director Ryan Coogler explained how Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight influenced his approach to making the fictional nation of Wakanda feel like a real place. Now Black Panther has just beat that with an opening of over $242 million.
Black Panther is now playing in theaters everywhere. Like the nation of Wakanda, "Black Panther" feels isolated from the rest of the Marvel films in that there are nearly no references to events happening outside of T'challa's personal conflict or callbacks to other films. "This film is a godsend that will lift the self-esteem of black children in the USA and around the world for a long time".
"We always say we work on one movie at a time", Feige is quoted as saying.
With "Infinity War" coming up in May, it should be very interesting to see how T'challa, his allies and Wakanda will be wrapped up in the chaos.
Palestine calls for peace; USA firm on Jerusalem move
It was only Abbas' second appearance before the Security Council, after a 2011 visit in which he advocated Palestinian statehood. She said the us will not change its decision on December 6 to move the USA embassy to Jerusalem, a move that has frozen U.S.
Marvel's Black Panther is finally in theaters and if you haven't had the opportunity to check this film out yet, you absolutely should.
While speaking to Variety, Marvel president Kevin Feige spoke about the movie. Pre-release buzz and ticket sales were already unprecedented for the film, and Black Panther's status as a cultural phenomenon has lead to some startling numbers at the box office. Instead, you look like one super-sized person.
Unfortunately, it occurred at a point in the movie where audiences just wanted to get to the resolution and so it slowed down a part of the movie and we were afraid audiences were checking out... "Celebrate diversity, and hopefully if this does well, then you'll see more movies like this", Barnes said. Especially since Okoye was one of the best characters in the entire film.
"For years, the Black Panther has fought off invaders from his homeland, protecting Wakanda from everything from meddling governments to long-lost gods".
