Karnataka Congress MLA NA Haris' son Mohammed Haris Nalapad surrendered at the Cubbon Park Police Station in Bengaluru on Monday, almost two days after an FIR was filed against him and ten others for allegedly assaulting a man in UB City.

Respond to the incident, working president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and national spokesperson Dinesh Gundu Rao condemned the attack and said that nobody is above the law.

Supporters of the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (Secular) had gathered outside the police station to protest, while supporters of Haris, a member of the legislative assembly, had also turned up.

Police Commissioner T Suneel Kumar suspended Hadagalli for not registering the case against Nalapad earlier and failing to arrest him.

NBC brought in 16.2 million of those viewers, with the combination of NBC and NBC Sports pulling in a combined 18.9 million. Univision was the most-watched Spanish-language network for the 14th consecutive week, averaging 1.56 million viewers.

Nalapad allegedly assaulted and threatened the man after an altercation broke out between the two over a trivial matter at an upscale eatery on Saturday night.

But MLA NA Harris's son Mohammed Nalapad, who is also the Bangalore District Youth Congress General Secretary, took umbrage and brutally beat up Vidhwat, even as the crowd and the management in the restro-bar watched from the sidelines. The Bengaluru cops have booked him under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder) for the attack.

The man, identified as Vidwat, has been hospitalised, police said. "Congress MLA must counsel his absconding son to surrender", state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa tweeted. "I will see that my son does not do anything like this again". The police will arrest him. I have always been a law-abiding citizen and I am in no way involved in this case. Please do not indulge in dirty politics over this issue. This is all I ask. After the incident, Haris had claimed that his6 son was hiding somewhere without his knowledge. Whoever does wrong is wrong, be it a son of an MLA or anyone else. He also said that Nalapad had switched off his phone after being rebuked.
