Alcatel is genuinely on a roll this MWC, as they've just announced not one but five new devices, including an extremely affordable device that runs on Android Go.

It's worth noting that some questions still remain, particularly regarding Canadian pricing and availability.

The Alcatel 5 sports a unibody with a brushed metallic finish to make it look more premium than it really is. We've reached out to Alcatel for additional information.

The Alcatel 3V gets a bigger, 6-inch 18:9 aspect ratio with an IPS 2.5D curved display that packs a 2K resolution (2160×1080 pixels). Storage space can be expanded by up to an additional 128GB via a microSD card. The main highlight of the Alcatel 5 is the integration of face unlocking mechanism paired with dual front camera sensors.

The CPU has the same amount of cores and clockspeed, and 1GB of RAM... but you're only getting 8GB of onboard storage, which is pretty much useless in this day and age of larger apps.

The new 5 series which is set to be a top seller in Australia has a 5.7-inch, 1440 x 720 display, an octa-core MediaTek processor, a USB-C port, Android Nougat, and a face recognition feature, but only a single camera. The result is an OS suitable for installation on smartphones the most basic level, to which belongs the Alcatel 1X and is guaranteed not to brake.

It's unclear when these devices will be available in the USA or what their pricing will be, though Alcatel has previously said its 5 series of phones will cost less than $300, 3 series phones will be sub-$200 and the 1 series would cost $100. That comes in a 5.7-inch HD+ 1440×720 IPS panel.

United States imposes 'largest ever sanctions tranche' on N.Korea
Ivanka Trump, the president's daughter and adviser, arrived in South Korea on Friday to attend the closing ceremony this weekend. He said he could not rule out the prospect of the United States boarding and inspecting North Korean ships.

Android Go is nearly the same of the Top, which left only the most basic functions, which allowed to reduce resource consumption to a minimum. As for specs, it has a Quad-Core MediaTek MT8735 alongside 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a 3,000mAh battery. The 3V's primary lens is 12 megapixels to the 3X's 13, and the 3V's secondary camera is 2-MP to the 3X's 5-MP. The Alcatel 3 will be available starting March at a price of 149.99 euros (approximately Rs 11,900).

The first is to the screen - the 7-inch display only offers a 1280 x 600 pixel count, which will appear about as sharp given it's squished in a little, and it doesn't offer the Eye Care feature.

Alcatel 3 is equipped with a 5.5-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio delivering HD+ resolution.

Alcatel says that the Alcatel 5 is now available in select markets for €229 ($281 USD).

The Alcatel 5 is the flagship of the new lineup but still costs significantly less than its competitors.

The newly launched smartphones adhere to the new "simganic" design language and come with 18:9 displays and dual cameras. Some other features are 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, quad-core processor, fingerprint sensor and 3000mAh battery.
