3 officers reported shot in Locust Grove; suspect dead

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to investigate the shootings. Miles says Ralph Sidwell "Sid" Callaway was listed in stable condition at a hospital.

He said officers had no motivation to accept when they arrived that the suspect would be savage, however it ended up noticeably clear that he wouldn't run with them readily.

Sheriff McBrayer said his deputies went to the home to serve an arrest warrant late Friday morning. The male suspect who was killed was identified as 39-year-old Tierra Guthrie.

Sources tell FOX 5's Morse Diggs that one officer is dead and two others are wounded.

The GBI said it has identified the suspect, but is withholding his name pending notification of his family.

At a press conference on Friday afternoon, Henry County Sheriff Keith McBrayer said: 'You never know when you go to take somebody into custody what kind of response you are going to get.

The officer was with the Locust Grove Police Department while the deputies were with the Henry County Sheriff's Office. A suspect, who hasn't been named by authorities, was killed.

It has been reported that two Henry County sheriff's deputies and one Locust Grove police officer were shot some time before 12:30 p.m., though those reports are unconfirmed.

The young police officer is the only one the police department has ever hired straight out of school. Price said the police chief and chaplain had spoken with Maddox's wife.
