Roma chief Monchi coy over Chelsea talk for Dzeko, Emerson Palmieri

Dzeko before moving to Roma in August 2015 was playing for Manchester City where he enjoyed a decent stint.

"Whatever will be will be", Monchi said before Roma's 1-1 draw with Inter on Sunday (21 January).

But Dzeko was caught having a chat with Totti as the Roma squad boarded a train to Milan for this afternoon's clash with Inter.

However, as per the Telegraph, the 31-year-old Dzeko has a contract with Roma until July 2020 and it seems implausible that he would accept a contract that expires before that date.

Ashley Barnes has been linked with a surprise move to Chelsea, but losing the striker in this transfer window would represent a significant blow for Burnley. Chelsea also have some worries over Dzeko's wage demands, as he now earns £76,000 per week at Roma and may ask for more upon his return to England. Chelsea will welcome the addition of both the players and Dzeko in particular, who will add more fire up front.
