At least one firefighter was injured along with several adults and nine children, who all suffered minor injuries as a result of the fire, Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro says.

Firefighters broke windows to get people out of the building as the fire continued to burn. The store is on the ground floor with apartments above.

Another resident escaped with her two children and their dog.
