A man was killed and a woman injured in an explosion on Sunday outside a metro station in Stockholm, Sweden, police said. The report quoted police sources as saying that there was no indication that the explosion was directed against any individuals or property. Police also called for witnesses to step forward with any information.

A police spokesman said an object exploded after it was picked up, adding there was no reason to believe the event was terrorism-related.
