To note, the victim told investigators that she woke up to find her trousers and shirt unbuttoned and the man's hand inside her trousers.

Two flight attendants told federal investigators that the victim was crying and that her shirt was untied and that her trousers were unbuttoned when she had reported the alleged attack at about 5:30 a.m., 40 minutes before the plane's landing, Jawad said.

The miscreant was seated in the middle seat next to his wife, with 22-year-old victim seated in the window seat.

Ramamoorthy has been charged with aggravated sexual abuse and held without bail after an appearance in federal court in MI on Thursday.

The woman instantly detailed the claims to flight orderlies, who said she "showed up obviously irritated and was crying", as per the dissension.

She revealed that the man was pushing his "fingers in her (privates) and enthusiastically moving them". In the statement, he also added that he hadn't done anything apart from learning from his wife that the 22-year-old woman was sleeping on his knees.

His wife who was in court and left in tears without commenting told police that she didn't like the other woman sleeping on her husband's lap and that she asked to change seats. But the "flight attendants did not report that anyone asked them to change seats other than the victim", Jawad said. He also allegedly said that he tried to put his finger in her vagina, according to the federal complaint.

Justice Judge R. Steven Whalen requested Ramamoorthy imprisoned in front of a confinement hearing.

Stephen Schuler, a spokesman for Spirit Airlines, said Thursday the company is fully cooperating with law enforcement and referred all questions to them.
