The significance of ultra-high 8K resolution panel development is higher resolution without compromising brightness, according to LGD.
The development further underlines LG's commitment to OLED while Samsung is turning away from the technology to focus on QLED development. Even if you own an expensive 4K or UHD TV, the new display from LG puts it to shame as it has four times as many pixels.
LG Display's latest accomplishment comes with not one by two impressive claims. Second, it's the highest-resolution OLED screen ever, with native resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels.
In other words, it might make more sense to take the tens of thousands of dollars you'd blow on an 8K television and instead buy the biggest 4K display you can get your hands on.
LG Display's flexible OLED lighting brand Luflex will first be used in cars and commercial spaces.
Minimum wage rises to $10.40 an hour on path toward $15
Workers in New York City who are employed at businesses with at least 11 employees will now earn a minimum wage of $13/hour. However, the minimum wage increases only apply to restaurants that are part of a chain of 30 or more locations nationwide.
The place was held by LG's 77-inch TV, which only featured 4K resolution.
LG maintained that it's actually easier to come up with 8K resolution for an OLED display than a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel.
"OLED is clearly a next-generation technology leader and for this reason, LG Display is accelerating its research and development into OLED so that we can provide differentiated products to customers and markets", Kang added.
Having said that, there is no harm in seeing and experience the TV from a distance and as it happens, a lucky few will be able to get a glimpse of the LG 8K OLED TV at the LG Display booth in the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 (January 9-12), Las Vegas. As OLEDs are self-emissive and therefore less affected by aperture ratio, they are optimal for 8K panels. 4K content has started to getting common and now we have the 8K display.
This new OLED display from LG has a resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels which takes the cumulative pixel count to almost 33 million pixels. "OLED TVs are well-known for their superior picture quality with ideal black, more life-like colors, and wider viewing angles".
