Law enforcement had set up a large perimeter, and the sheriff's office said the suspect is still at large.

Law enforcement agencies continued to hunt Thursday morning for two suspects in the shooting death of an Adams County Deputy at about 7 p.m. January 24.

Authorities say they were responding to a call in the area.

They say Denver Cass Simmons is now wanted in Harrison County for numerous alleged offenses including burglary, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and multiple thefts.

Jail records reveal Dreion Martise Dearing, 22, is being held for investigation of first-degree murder and two of counts of first-degree murder of a peace officer at the Adams County Jail. The deputy's name and age have not been released, and investigators have not said what led to the shooting in a residential area in Thornton, about eight miles north of downtown Denver.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office says that the suspects are dressed in all back and either dark-skinned Hispanic men or light-skinned African American men. "This is a time for us to protect officers". Deputy Heath Gumm, 31, served honorably beginning in 2012.

Flags are to be lowered immediately, and remain at half-staff until sunset the day of Gumm's funeral. Gumm was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Gas prices hit four-year highs, AAA says
AAA fuel analyst Don Redman says high gas prices at the start of the new year may lead to an increase in prices through 2018. At the close of Friday's formal trading session on the NYMEX, West Texas Intermediate dropped 58 cents to settle at $63.37.

Just before 11 a.m. on Thursday, the agency tweeted asking for patience as deputies continue to investigate.

"Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers, as this is a very hard time for everyone".

"This loss is incomprehensible", the Arapahoe Sheriff's office tweeted.

The suspects are possibly armed and risky.

Because of the ongoing manhunt, more than a dozen schools in the Adams County area were closed on Thursday. The foundation has a PayPal account set up and all donations will go to the Gumm family.
