The feature was announced back in December but is finally starting to roll out to Android Oreo 8.1 users this week. It shows a clear preview if a network is fast enough for your intended use. Notably, the displayed speed can change with signal strength. Then tap on Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Preferences, Advanced, Network Rating Provider, and select None. Now when you're thumbing through local networks, your phone will tell you the speed of each unencrypted network, even without forcing you to connect first.
Sarvikas in a tweet on Thursday confirmed the Nokia 8 will receive Android 8.1 Oreo. The Wi-Fi speed majorly influences the 8.1 Oreo functionality. It is the latter that has to be the preferred connection, as it will permit users to stream video contents in extremely high quality according to the guidance shared by Google. The labels are Slow, OK, Fast, and Very Fast, with each allowing more functionality than the last.

This new feature will simplify the need of showing the exact speed rating a bit easier. To enable this option, you can simply follow the same path and enable this feature. After registering with IMEI number and other details, Nokia 8 users will get Android 8.0 Oreo software update notification within hours of registration. Nearly all the smartphone giants are preparing for the Oreo update for their respective smartphones. Unfortunately this one is exclusive to the Google Pixel smartphone line-up and may become available in the near future.
