Highlighting the works done by the Modi government, Kovind said: "In last 3.5 years, out government have constructed more than 93 lakh houses in rural areas".

The President also said that his government has kept its promise of giving "One Rank One Pension", which was welcomed by heavy thumping of desks.

"There were only two mobile manufacturing companies in India in 2014", he said.

"Today, all Indians residing in any corner of the world are confident that in case of a crisis, their government will provide them with a safe passage to the country", Kovind said. Digital transactions are being done for over 400 policies of present govt. Mr Kovind said the government is committed to double the income of farmers by the year 2022.

President Kovind appreciated the efforts of the NDA government of approving the bill granting working women paid maternity leave of 26 weeks.

The government implemented GST in 2017 and has managed to reduce the fiscal deficit and current account deficit.

He said that the work on reopening of fertiliser plants at Gorakhpur, Barauni, Sindri, Talcher and Ramagundam is "progressing at a fast pace".

The President said after Independence while only 76 Airports were connected to Commercial flights, under "Udaan" 56 Airports and 31 Helipads are being connected to commercial flights within 15 months only.

He said the Centre was committed for the protection of the rights of Muslim women and expressed hope that the Triple Talaq Bill will be passed by Parliament soon. "So far, flights have commenced from 16 such airports", he said.

Due to regular efforts of the Central Government and the State Governments, there has been significant improvement in the internal security of the country. This will lead to greater participation of private sector and job creation in the construction of key defense platforms and equipments.

Ahead of the commencement of Budget Session 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this budget would fulfill the expectations of common people and would take India's growth story forward.
