The Winter Weather Advisory was issued because travel conditions will be hazardous. Snow showers will quickly move in and steadily fall through the evening commute.

"Widespread snowfall totals of 1-3" in central in, 2-4" totals along and northeast of I-74. With wind chills, it'll feel around 5 to 10 degrees below zero. The snow will also be light and fluffy so snow blowing onto the roads could also be a concern. Snow will begin to pass through after the sunrise, and it is expected to last throughout the afternoon and early evening.

Above is a National Weather Service Missoula office estimate on total snowfall from this storm. Greatest snow impacts should be along and North of I-90. Snow is expected and with the cold temperatures you can expect slippery road conditions. Snow will linger through midnight Saturday morning. Saturday will see another high in the mid-20s. However, heavier bands of snowfall may set up over the area as the system travels over Greater Lafayette.

A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect for most of the state until Saturday night.
