Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter will return to the team for the 2018 season. The Bucs enter Week 17 at 4-11.

Koetter is 13-18 in his two seasons as head coach but has been instrumental in the progress of third year quarterback Jameis Winston.

ESPN and the Tampa Bay Times were among the media outlets reporting the news Friday evening. But the team has struggled with injuries, poor performance and close losses.

Martin was suspended by the team for a rule violation two weeks ago and is nearing the end of another disappointing season, in which he's averaging merely 3.0 yards per carry, that began with a drug suspension. Six of their last seven games have been decided by one score with Tampa Bay going 1-5 in those contests. Many saw them as playoff contenders. He also spent time as the offensive coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles among his offensive coaching stints in the NFL.
