NHL commissioner Gary Bettman announced after a Board of Governors meeting in Palm Beach, Fla., that the league has received a request to file an expansion application from billionaire investment banker David Bonderman and Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

The cost of the team would be $650 million, and it would begin play in the 2020-21 season. But that doesn't mean there is a lack of speculative alternatives on the table.

Bettman said the process of setting up a team in Seattle would be similar to what happened for Las Vegas, according to K5. He made the announcement Thursday after the first day of the board of governors meeting.

The league also has been eyeing Seattle as a solution to address the 16-to-15 team imbalance between its Eastern and Western conferences.

Bettman said the group is only looking at Seattle for expansion, leaving Quebec City and Houston alone. We remember Seattle has more Stanley Cups and we plan to add to that.

Factor director Bryan Singer sued for allegedly raping 17-year-old boy
The suit also maintains Singer forcibly penetrated Guzman, now 31, and performed oral sex on him despite his protestations. The statement added that "once Bryan prevails" he will file claims for malicious prosecution against Sanchez-Guzman.

The NHL was specific in pointing out that Seattle is likely an expansion team, not a relocation like some had speculated. "We look forward to providing details on this process in the near future and having the opportunity to demonstrate why Seattle would make a great National Hockey League market".

"I'm hoping to meet with or speak with Mr. Bonderman soon as well as having constant communication with Mr. Leiweke", Durkan said. But that's not something we're focused on right now.

"I don't think today's events have any impact on Quebec City", said deputy commissioner Bill Daly.

"We like (the team) where it is", said Dundon, 46, who has to sign a standard consent agreement that bars him from moving the team for at least seven years. "We want to work together, so we're thinking about it".
