Bohemian Rhapsody also stars Ben Hardy, Gwilym Lee, Joseph Mazzello, Allen Leech, and Lucy Boynton. That news was followed up by a response from Singer's camp, claiming that the studio did not make allowances for the director to care for an ailing parent. Rumor has it that there are only two weeks of shooting left before production is complete and the movie can go in post-production.

Officials at 20th Century Fox fired Bryan Singer as director of the Freddie Mercury biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" on Monday after he failed to show up for work on multiple occasions. Rami Malek, who starred in "Mr. Robot", will be playing the lead role of Freddie Mercury, the frontman for Queen, while actor Tom Hollander will play Jim Beach.

But then Singer did not return to the set after the Thanksgiving break and is believed to have been in the US for about the last 10 days, according to one source. While Singer disputed that account, he did acknowledge that there were "creative differences" but explained that he that he had to "return to the U.S.to deal with pressing health matters concerning one of my parents". Unfortunately, the studio was unwilling to accommodate me and terminated my services. He made his directorial debut with 2011's Wild Bill and most recently directed 2016's Eddie the Eagle, about the British ski jumper who took the 1988 Winter Olympics by storm.
