Panthers halt Vikings' streak — Sunday's NFL

One of the biggest things that sold then-and-now general manager Marty Hurney and head coach Ron Rivera on Newton in the 2011 pre-draft process was what he did under pressure at Auburn. Their quest to earn a first-round playoff bye would be aided by yet another win; they're now 8-1 vs. NFC foes.

The Panthers can thank their tablet computers for helping secure their 31-24 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon at Bank of America Stadium. The Vikings (10-3) had an eight-game winning streak snapped. "It wasn't a playoff game". There are going to be opportunities down the line so we will see what happens.

In his previous 10 starts, Keenum hadn't been sacked more than twice. Keenum finished with 27 completions on 44 passes for 280 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions (a 75.9 rating).

Minnesota remodeled its offensive line this offseason and the results have mostly been excellent. They gave up another first quarter score before making some nice adjustments and forcing a few punts in the second quarter. His two best games in that period, however, have come against the Indianapolis Colts. Carolina finished with 216 yards on the ground. That usually translates into a loss for this team, and it did on Sunday. The short-handed unit lost left tackle Riley Reiff to an ankle injury, and it suddenly starting to look like last year's line. Obviously, the rules are a lot different than it was back in the day. On Sunday, they ran into Superman.

Another potential touchdown drive occurred following Sendejo's interception late in the fourth quarter. The pass was thrown into triple coverage by Keenum, which may say something about the confidence Keenum has in Rudolph, but it was a risky throw.

Much of his surprising success can be attributed to duo of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, perhaps the top 1-2 punch at receiver the game now has to offer. "With C-Mac [Christian McCaffrey] and Stew [Jonathan Stewart], those guys are gravitating a lot of attention in the backfield and we are just trying to attack the defense with a lot of misdirection to make them hesitate". "He did what he does to keep his team in the game". Without one of his favorite targets for part of the game, Keenum had a tough day.

Southampton 1-1 Arsenal: Match recap
It took Olivier Giroud to save Arsenal's blushes in the 84th minute as he came off the bench to head home an equaliser. "I'm not happy with the point because I wanted three, but if you can not win it, don't lose it and we kept going".

"We're like the misfits, like the rug rats", said Shepard of undrafted players, of which he is one. "They like having fun and when you get guys up front that are able to get after the passer, I've said it a bunch before, it makes everyone's job easier on the back end". The Browns (0-13) missed out on their best chance to get into the win column. The Vikings were 1-for-4 in the red zone and had to settle for three when they needed six. The Panthers were given life on that drive when two facemask penalties gave Carolina 30 free yards.

McCoy rushed for 158 yards on a career-high 32 carries and surpassed 1,000 yards on the season as the Bills (7-6) weathered relentless snow, swirling winds and near whiteout conditions to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Vikings are seeking their ninth straight win when they visit the Panthers.

Dropped passes-sometimes they can be epidemic.

Adam Thielen: Thielen had six catches for 105 yards and a touchdown.

According to running back Christian McCaffrey, the tablet showed the Vikings' defensive tendencies against the zone read as the game progressed. Worley played well in the first half, even recording an interception, but the second-year corner struggled after halftime, giving up multiple receptions - one of which allowed the Vikings within three points late in the game. Minnesota can also clinch if Green Bay and Detroit lose or tie. Can't have turnovers on the road in this league and expect to win.
