Produced by Twinkle Khanna's Mrs Funnybones Productions, PadMan also stars Sonam Kapoor. But the trailer focuses more on Akshay Kumar, and with good reasons, since he is the star and the reason for the movie to exist. Akshay's films in the past have been content driven and given that Padman is based on a real life personality, the buzz around it is pretty high. We soon meet Akshay Kumar's character Lakshmikanth, whose initiative to manufacture cost-effective sanitary napkins results in him delivering a speech on menstrual hygiene at the UN Headquarters.
PadMan is the world's first feature film on menstrual hygiene based on the story of TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential entrants Arunachalam Muruganantham, a rural welder from India turned incredible innovator and inventor, who was moved to provide women with access to high-quality and affordable sanitary pads 20 years ago. He plays a simpleton who loves his wife and the women in his life and wants to bring a healthy change in their lives. While all eyes are now on Tiger Zinda Hai, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, to know if the film ends the rather disappointing year in Bollywood with a bang, we already have Padman to look forward to in the next year. Meanwhile, Akshay has also wrapped his other film Gold just the past weekend.
Omarosa Manigault Newman Denies She Was Fired From The White House
Much of Manigault Newman's work centered around being a high-profile Trump surrogate with African-American voters. Her brash and manipulative persona on the show both endeared her to Trump and made her a must-watch character.
Sharing the trailer on his official Twitter handle, Akshay wrote, "Presenting the much awaited #PadManTrailer, this one's for the mad ones, the ones who are insane enough to change the world". The inspiring film will have its worldwide release on 26th January, 2018. Sonam also tweeted the trailer and wrote, "Great things come of out passion and PAD MAN is a great example of this".
