The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Friday that it had arrested a man suspected of planning a terror attack on Christmas Day in San Francisco, The Hill reports.

The FBI has arrested a California tow truck driver for allegedly attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization and plotting a Christmas-time attack.

According to court documents, Jameson selected the Pier 39 location because he "knew it was a heavily crowded area". Jameson also said he wanted to use "explosives", and he described a plan where where people would "funnel" into a place where he could "inflict casualties". The 26-year-old reportedly stated that "Christmas was the flawless day" for a terror attack in San Francisco and "did not need an escape plan because he was ready to die".

The terror plot seemed to unravel earlier this week. The FBI searched Jameson's home in Modesto on Wednesday, finding guns, explosives, and a signed note taking credit for an attack.

Jameson told the undercover agent that he wanted to commit an attack that was "something along the lines of NY or San Bernardino", the documents say. The FBI says he sought materials that could be made into a pipe bomb from an agent.

Federal Bureau of Investigation documents further reveal that Jameson was seemingly committed to an Islamist ideology, declaring in a handwritten letter that "There are no innocent Kuffar... I'm ready." He also said that he took his shahada proving that he was believer two years at the Merced Islamic Center. Everitt Jameson of Modesto was reported for suspicious activity on Facebook after allegedly posting GIFs from October's fatal attack in New York City.

The agent learned Jameson had prior military experience with the U.S. Marine Corps.

He wrote a letter stating among other things: "You all have brought this upon yourselves". "You've Allowed Donald J Trump to give away Al Quds to the Jews", the letter said, using the Arabic name for "Jerusalem". Both You and he are wrong, it belongs to the Muslemeen. It was signed by Abdallah Abu Everitt Ibn Gordon Al-Amriki and was dated December 16.

Dar al Islam means the "house of Islam". The agent said, "We can only do Allah's will", and Jameson replied, "In Sha Allah one day I can". During the interview, "Jameson stated his support of ISIS and terrorism and discussed aspects of the plan to carry out an attack, noting that he would be happy if an attack was carried out", the court document noted.
