The move to add Handmade goods to its list of items eligible for speedy Prime Now delivery should help artisans score a few more orders in the run up to Christmas, and give truly last-minute shoppers the chance to secure delivery right up until 11.59 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Amazon said in a release.

The company also recently announced that it has launched a subscription-based delivery service in Singapore on Wednesday. While subscribers will get access to same day deliveries via Prime Now, it will only apply to some 5 million items from the global selection, compared to over 50 million in the USA, with free shipping if they spend S$60 ($45). The price for the monthly membership is at S$8.99.

In July, the retailer added a two-hour delivery service in Southeast Asia as it is putting more effort into a market that could be very profitable for it.

But for a limited period, it goes for $2.99 a month, although Amazon did not specify for how long.

"Now, with the launch of Amazon Prime, Singapore consumers can finally have access to these products and services, and can get more value when they shop on Prime Now".

Gaming is also an upcoming entertainment industry, and Singapore Amazon Prime members can also enjoy access to gaming benefits on Twitch Prime at no additional cost. Though everything points to an eventual local Amazon online store, he remained mum about their plans.

LiveUp offers users benefits such as rebates and discounts for RedMart, Netflix, Uber, UberEats and Taobao Collection. Furthermore, items that previously shipped free to Singapore using AmazonGlobal Saver are not available, or are shipped separately but with fees. "Customers in Singapore have been enjoying ultra-fast delivery with Prime Now since July, and now, the introduction of Amazon Prime will take their shopping experience to the next level", said Jamil Ghani, vice president, Amazon Prime global.

Amazon.com will offer last-minute delivery of pottery, necklaces, candles and other handmade products ordered as late as Christmas Eve in nine US cities, including Seattle, looking to win orders from competing arts-and-crafts marketplace Etsy.
