"Winter Session of Parliament to be held from December 15 to January 5", said CCPA.
The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs on Friday recommended that the Winter Session of Parliament will be held from December 15 to January 5.
Hindustan Times reported on Thursday that the dates of the session had earlier been finalised but not declared as they were sent to President Ram Nath Kovind for his approval.
Talking to media persons, Ananthkumar noted that it is not unprecedented that the schedule of the Parliament Session has been decided so as to avoid any overlap with the Assembly Elections in the States.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, he appealed to all Political Parties for fruitful and constructive discussions on important Bills and ensure smooth functioning of both the Houses of the Parliament.
Nigeria police say at least 20 killed in mosque bombing
The blast bears the hallmarks of a faction led by Abubakar Shekau, which forces women and girls to carry out suicide bombings. Tuesday's bombing brings the number killed in 2017 to at least 278, according to calculations by Reuters.
Kumar alleged that the Congress was levelling allegations out of desperation and frustration as it would be routed in assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
The upcoming session of Parliament is expected to witness heavy fireworks as the Congress would look to corner the Modi government over a range of issues. Parliament is considered to be in session once it is formally convened. Even for the winter session, either dates have been deferred, altered, or broken into two - in the past.
"At least we have lot of stakes in this election".
When asked whether MPs would be asked to be present on January 1, Kumar said parliamentarians were supposed to be present on all working days, including on New Year's Day.
