The indictment doesn't name the lobbying firms. Further, the source added that Podesta said he "needs to fight this as an individual, but doesn't want the firm to fight it".

Manafort and Gates chose two companies, identified as Company A and Company B in the indictment, to lobby on behalf of the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine, a European nonprofit that officials say was created as a mouthpiece for the Party of Regions. At the direction of Manafort and Gates, Company A and Company B engaged in extensive lobbying. In the indictment they are referred to as "Company A and Company B", according to people familiar with the companies' involvement.

John Podesta, Hillary Clinton's former campaign chairman, testified in the House Russia investigation but is unaffiliated with the Podesta Group.

"Podesta announced his decision during a firm-wide meeting Monday morning and is alerting clients of his impending departure", Politico reported.

Tony Podesta, founder of lobbying firm the Podesta Group, is leaving the firm after becoming a subject in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, Politico reports.

Heavy rains, strong winds, Sunday into Monday
Focusing on rainfall, we are looking at 1 to 2 inches of rain , but some areas could see 3 or 4 inches in heavy rain or downpours. When the wind is this gusty, it can make driving a little tricky, it can cause power outages and minor damage to property.

The nonprofit also paid $1.07 million over roughly the same period to Mercury to lobby Congress. "Company A and Company B were paid for their services not by their nominal client, the Centre, but exclusively through off shore accounts associated with Manafort-Gates".

Manafort's broader lobbying efforts were first reported on by the Associated Press in August 2016.

Prior to that, Manafort was not previously registered as a foreign agent under the Foreign Agents Registration Act ("FARA") and this failure to register is one of the various charges filed against him in the indictment made public this morning. Podesta and another lobbying firm, Mercury LLC, were working with Manafort and his partner, Rick Gates, from 2012-2014 in lobbying to improve the image of the Ukrainian government. The disclosures covered the period from April 2012 through April 2014.

PG had represented the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine in a PR push that was organized by Manafort.

Manafort and Gates surrendered to the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Monday, as 12 felony counts against the pair were unsealed.
