The FBI will continue to question Paddock's girlfriend Marilou Danley throughout the coming days after she returned to the USA from the Philippines on Tuesday. Danley, one of them said, spoke about him having "mental health symptoms".

"[His girlfriend] said he would lie in bed, just moaning and screaming, 'Oh, my God, '" one of the officials recalled.

Paddock had reportedly been prescribed anti-anxiety medication Valium. Employees at a Starbucks near his Reno home recall him berating his girlfriend in public.

Stephen Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, told FBI. investigators he had mental health issues and would sometimes lie in bed crying out, "Oh, my God!" His rooms were at Chicago's Blackstone Hotel, across the street from Grant Park, the site of the festival.

When a journalist at the news conference asked if investigators had seen any evidence that Paddock had planned to survive the attack and possibly try to escape, Sheriff Lombardo replied, "Yes".

"I know that she doesn't know anything as well like us", the sister said.

The shooter's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, is cooperating with authorities and has spoken to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Russian authorities, the academic said, are trying to show "a new opening" in dealing with the Middle East developments. The two countries have already struck a deal on weapons sales and leaders discussed the oil market and Syrian crisis.

"We certainly know that he distracted the shooter and so lives were saved", David Hickey said, according to Newsweek.

On Wednesday, having returned from overseas voluntarily to answer investigator's questions about her partner, Danley released a statement which was read out by her lawyer, Matthew Lombard.

Janette Henry says Ms Danley was her stepmother 30 years ago after she married Ms Henry's father in Australia.

Paddock's brother, Eric Paddock, was similarly confused.

"We're told the hotel does not guarantee view rooms, but for some reason in the hotel computer system there's a note that guaranteed Paddock a view room". They do not believe it was a manifest or a suicide note, according to Mr Lombardo.

She also expressed sympathy for Paddock's victims.

Two months before carrying out the attack from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, Paddock booked a pair of rooms across the street from Chicago's Grant Park, where the Lollapalooza music festival was held from August 3 to August 6, TMZ reported.
