Iran's Top General Threatens Israel in Syria

The Russian defense minister arrived in Israel Monday just hours after the Israeli military launched a strike against a Syrian army anti-aircraft battery, after the battery opened fire on Israeli Air Force planes.

Ayoub accused the United States of trying to impede the progress of the army in its operations to combat terrorism through groups that have been forced to obey terrorist organizations such as ISIS and others to attack the Syrian regime army.

Syria's permanent representative to the UN, Bashar Al-Jaafari said that worldwide support provided to the Zionist entity allows the arrogant occupation to go far in committing crimes against humanity. There were no reports of injuries or property damage.

He also said that Turkish military presence in Syria is contrary to global law.

While Russia was updated about the incident in real time, according to the Israeli sources quoted by Asharq al-Awsat, the incident overshadowed the meeting and caused some tension between the officials.
