Reborn TVR unveils first new vehicle

The Griffith gets a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 from Ford and tuned by Cosworth; the last Griffith saw a similarly sized eight-pot from Rover.

Also, TVR is said to have set a power to weight target of 400bhp/tonne for the Griffith.

The Launch Edition of the Griffith will cost £90,000 and will come with a full leather interior, custom alloy wheels, a bespoke infotainment system and an exclusive range of body colours. This time, it has brought in Gordon Murray - the creator of the McLaren F1 - to design the auto.

Although petrol sports cars are very much in TVR's plans, Chasey did accept that alternative fuel options will have to be considered at some point: "We can't put our head in the sand though and we are aware we will need an alternative powertrain eventually". A dry oil sump - which prevents surges of oil from adversely affecting the engine during high-speed cornering - also features. The vehicle rides on 275/30 R20 section tyres at the rear, and 235/35 R19s at the front.

Gordon Murray's contribution comes in the form of iStream, the carbon composite body is fitted over a steel and aluminium chassis with carbon composite panels bonded to the frame for additional strength. This focus on aerodynamics is echoed at the rear, where a deeply-sculpted diffuser helps channel air away from the Griffith with the minimum of drag.

Wales Go Second After Dramatic Late Victory In Moldova
Bale and Co must show their ruthless streak again and keep their foot on the gas all the way to Russian Federation . Wales now sit third in Group D on 11 points from seven games, while Moldova are bottom of the pile on two points.

Performance is something else TVR is being coy about, but it claims a 200+mph maximum and a sub four-second 0-60mph time.

The suspension uses double wishbones at either end, with adjustable coil-over dampers and concentric springs.

What's more, designer Gordon Murray's personality is stamped all over this auto. Despite its compact dimensions, TVR says that the interior offers enough space and comfort for long-distance and everyday driving. You'd be forgiven for thinking so, given the (qualified) excitement about the brand's rebirth and fact we've not heard a whole lot since meeting Les Edgar and John Chasey a year ago.

European deliveries are set to begin in late 2018 with the fully loaded Launch Edition, which costs the equivalent of nearly $120,000 in the United Kingdom, inclusive of local sales tax. You can find out more dteails about the new TVR Griffith over at TVR's website at the link below.

Embodying TVR's long-standing ethos of the Sprit of Driving - the principle of delivering an involving driving interface where the driver will always be fully in control - the new Griffith uses intelligent engineering over electronic driver aids.
