Most theme parks reopening Tuesday, but not all

Universal Studios-near Disney World-also reopened Tuesday, the park stated.

The shares of publicly traded theme parks with facilities in Florida were rebounding on Monday as damages were assessed in the wake of Hurricane Irma, with closed parks likely to open on Tuesday.

This isn't the first time the resort's theme parks have closed since the first park, Magic Kingdom, opened in 1971, but the parks have always been up and running again within 24 hours.

Universal Studios, also located in Orlando, is set to reopen on Tuesday as well after a two-day closure and "relatively minor" damage according to a spokesperson. Ashley was stuck in Animal Kingdom with her boyfriend, and shared the experience in a series of videos on YouTube.

The Disney parks were closed Sunday and Monday before they opened at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Universal Orlando on Monday was inspecting its property "across our entire destination in preparation for an anticipated on-time opening tomorrow morning", the park said in a statement to USA TODAY.

SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica water park are slated to open on Wednesday. However, Hurricane Irma has ripped through the Caribbean and reached Florida over the weekend, prompting the theme park to shut. The park has not announced a reopening of its Discovery Cove.

Elsewhere in Magic Kingdom, The Walt Disney World railroad is closed, due to lots of debris on the track, along with Tom Sawyer's Island...but it's okay if you didn't want to go to Tom Sawyer's Island in the first place.
