Meanwhile, Bears rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky looked more like a franchise quarterback as he led Chicago to a touchdown on his first drive before the half and then another touchdown scoring drive on his first drive of the second half making it 14-10. Mike Glennon and Mark Sanchez were downright bad up until this point, but Trubisky turned things around for the Bears.
In June, Glennon admitted to thinking about his long-term future with the Bears after they drafted the rookie, saying those ideas brought about "unnecessary stress" and were "negative rather than positive". It might be his year, but Glennon's 2/8 for 20 yards and interception for a 0.0 QB rating only stokes the fires for Trubisky. The Bears traded their first-, third- and fourth-round selections, as well as a 2018 third rounder, to the San Francisco 49ers for the second overall pick, essentially trading away three young players to move up one spot. Glennon's second pass harkened to the days of Jay Cutler, throwing a pick-6 on his second pass of the night. As to where Trubisky was going up against reserves, some of whom might not make the Broncos' 53-man roster, Glennon was taking on one of the top defenses in the NFL. It's also Trubisky running with the Bears second and third stringers instead of the starters.
Trubisky replaced backup Mark Sanchez just before halftime and directed TD drives of 50 and 75 yards, hitting on his first nine passes. Trubisky will see a lot of action in this game as the Bears want to work with their prized possession as much as possible to develop him into a quality quarterback at the pro level. I think that's just semantics. Fox will demand to play the quarterback who gives him the best opportunity to win in a season he must show improvement.

"I thought I did some good things, [and] I thought Paxton did some good things", Siemian said.
Either way, this is a nice problem to have.
But it was also clear at times he had no idea what he was doing and was reacting rather than quarterbacking, and Bears fans will just have to find a way to remember that patience is most often a virtue.
Mitch Trubisky was in control of the offense throughout the game, showing great arm strength, pinpoint accuracy and impressive mobility at the quarterback position.
