Priebus says Trump sought a different direction

He is a Great American. and a Great Leader. "He must now quickly replace Secretary Kelly with someone experienced and measured who understands that homeland security is not a partisan issue".

A new name was added to the Trump Administration Friday following a week of drama surrounding the position of chief of staff, leading to the ousting of Reince Priebus.

In his statement announcing his resignation, Priebus said, "It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve this President and our country. I support him in that", he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room".

Priebus served a scant 189 days as chief of staff, the shortest tenure in decades for someone in that post.

After watch Reince Priebus grovel after he was sacked, it's clear that the Republican Party isn't capable of ever taking a stand against Trump.

On Wednesday, Scaramucci went on an expletive-laden rant to a reporter in which he called Priebus a "paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac".

This is what Trump has always done - forming insular teams that he thinks will protect him and make him feel good about himself.

"Unfortunately, It is clear that this decision was rushed and not well thought out", Thompson said. "Professional people don't discuss private conversations in public".

Yates and Gard have been fighting successive rulings saying their son's life support should be withdrawn and he should be left to die with dignity.

Priebus says he intends to continue working at the White House for a couple of weeks to ease the transition of his replacement.

He was hired with the goal of bringing more discipline to the White House, a senior White House official said. "He'll be asked to resign very shortly", Scaramucci said. "He has achieved so much, and he has done it all with class". Ryan added that he looked forward to working with Kelly.

Before taking over as secretary of homeland security, Kelly, 67, served in the top slot of the U.S. Southern Command, the Pentagon's area of responsibility focused on the Caribbean and South America, and notably Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

At the end of a week of convulsions, US President Donald Trump is punting on the appointment of a politically inexperienced US Marine general to magically halt the chaos that has become a hallmark of his administration. Retired Gen. James Mattis is Trump's defense secretary, and Trump's first choice for national security adviser was retired Army Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn.

That hapless duo can't be blamed for the administration's failure to chalk up victories - underscored in the last week by the failure in the Senate of the Republican Party's years long campaign to repeal and replace Obamacare. He has helped seal the border and reduced illegal immigration by 70%.

As Secretary of Homeland Security, Kelly has played a key role in the border security of the Trump Administration. "Incredible", Trump said to applause. "To the tremendous men and women of DHS, I thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Secretary", he said.

As Homeland Security secretary, Kelly has taken the lead on some of Trump's most controversial policies, including his executive orders suspending the admission of refugees and temporarily barring visitors from several Muslim-majority nations.
