Social media was agog after news broke out that The Red Devils had agreed a £75m deal with Everton for the transfer of the Belgian global, who is reportedly undergoing his medical in Los Angeles.

So it seems Lukaku's move to Old Trafford could still not be done and dusted and the Express also suggest that Chelsea remain in the hunt to sign the Belgian worldwide, despite reports claiming that he's heading to United.

He's now out in Los Angeles with Paul Pogba and will hope to take a medical out in America with the hopes of joining up with Man United for the pre-season tour, with the rest of the players flying out on Sunday.

United had been chasing Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, but it emerged on Thursday that they had had a £75million offer accepted for Lukaku after ending their interest in the Spaniard.

Lukaku had been in contact with Antonio Conte before United agreed a fee and made it clear he was enthusiastic about a return.

Lukaku has also been a target for Chelsea this summer but United boss Jose Mourinho has also been keen to add a new high-profile striker to his squad after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to injury.

Chelsea look set to face a surprise defeat in their attempt to re-sign Romelu Lukaku.

Mourinho would preferably like to bring in another player as well as Lukaku for then too, along with new centre-half Victor Lindelof.

Chelsea, who were linked to Morata earlier in the year, could now be the man they look at - and are priced at 9/4 to land him.

But along with potential arrivals, Chelsea are also busy completing the exit of Diego Costa, with his former club Atletico Madrid expected to make a bid to re-sign him.

The United manager knows Lukaku from his time in charge at Chelsea.

Lukaku would be the second most-expensive striker ever.

He scored 25 league goals for Everton last season, only 4 behind top-scorer, Harry Kane.
