HBO Unveils First Look of Al Pacino as Joe Paterno

See the first-look photo of Pacino as Paterno via HBO below. After a 46-year career coaching football for the Nittany Lions, Paterno crashed and burned in 2011 when he was sacked in connection with the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case.

Paterno died in early 2012 of complications from lung cancer. He was 85 years old. Check out the photo from the film, which is now in production, in the gallery below. The first-look photo shows Pacino wearing glasses and sporting Penn State coaching jacket. Pacino and Levinson worked together in "You Don't Know Jack" and "Phil Spector".

Doing time: In 2012, Paterno's assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was found guilty of 45 charges of sexual abuse of boys and sentenced to up to 60 years in prison.

Renowned actor Al Pacino is portraying Joe Paterno in an upcoming film. The flick will also star Annie Parisse as Paterno's daughter and Riley Keough as Sara Ganim, the journalist who broke news of the Penn State scandal.

Kathy Baker, who now recurs on Netflix's The Ranch, co-stars as wife Sue Paterno. He played Tony D'Amato in 1999's "Any Given Sunday". Paterno's family denies the allegations.
