Rumors last week indicated George would play out his contract with the Pacers.

The past two seasons have been the best of his career. George, who can opt out of his contract next summer, could sign a four-year max contract for as much as $130 million with the Lakers before the 2018-19 season.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, George informed the Pacers of his intentions to leave the team in free agency and his preference to join the Lakers. Additionally, he pulled down 6.6 rebounds and passed for 3.3 assists per game.

At the February trade deadline, there was speculation that he could be headed to Boston or Atlanta. Then again, if the Lakers are sure they're going to get George anyway, that trade could come elsewhere.

Judy Huth, who says Cosby sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion when she was 15, sued in December 2014. But as Cosby exited the courtroom, spokesman Andrew Wyatt sent a powerful message to the gathered media.

It makes sense for the Pacers to remain patient when it comes to their plans with George. Further, George let it be known that he would like to sign with the Lakers in free agency. "It came from the heart and is very honest of wanting to bring that to IN, so that's where my heart is going to always be at", said George.

Still, even with all those rumors out there, it may take some time before a George trade materializes, if it ever does.

IN struggled after the All-Star break last season before clinching the No. 7 seed in the final week of the regular season. Maybe that wouldn't be enough to dethrone the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference or challenge the mighty Golden State Warriors, but it would give the Celtics a loaded starting five.

It's been a long time since a talented player has been so intent on playing for the Lakers.
