Miles Teller - the fingers-bloodying student drummer in "Whiplash" - was free Monday after being arrested early Sunday on suspicion of being drunk in public.

News, police questioned Miles Teller around 12:30 a.m. after the 30-year-old spent a night out with friends. "He was then arrested and transported to the local jail where he was booked", Billy Hernandez, a spokesperson for the San Diego Police Department, confirmed to People.

"Upon contact the officer noticed that Teller was 'swaying side to side, had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.' At one point, Teller lost his balance and nearly fell into the street where there was traffic", the spokesperson mentioned.

"So at that point they determined he was unable to care for himself and place him under arrest", he said. After being in jail for around 4 hours, Teller was released without bail. As previously reported, the impact caused his Bronco truck to flip over.
