American Idol came with an incredible price tag for Fox, which had to pay astronomical salaries to talent - most notably Seacrest and judge Jennifer Lopez. On Friday, Variety reported that ABC already has a deal in place with Fremantle Media and co-owner Core Media Group.

NBC and Fox were also in the running to bring the show back. Now, according to Deadline, Fox has also thrown its hat in the ring with an offer to the production company.

Will you watch American Idol again? Additionally, former popular American Idol judge Simon Cowell has an exclusive contract with NBC and is now a producer for the network's series America's Got Talent. Ryan did recently pick up co-hosting Kelly Ripa's daytime show, which would put him in too tight of a position to host, in our opinion. Variety speculated that Kelly Clarkson, American Idol's first victor, could possibly be involved in front of the cameras. He is relocating to NY for the role - a move that presents a substantial obstacle to a return as host of "Idol", which has always filmed in Los Angeles.

Sobotka said the finance minister had failed to clear suspicions over financial irregularities linked to his businesses. The president formally fires government ministers at the request of the prime minister, according to the Constitution.

Kelly Clarkson may act as judge in the upcoming "American Idol" reboot on ABC. For eight consecutive seasons, beginning in 2003-04, it was the highest-rated show on television.

If a deal is finalized, it likely will be announced at the network's May 16 upfront presentation to ad buyers, The Hollywood Reporter said. An op-ed from Vulture published shortly before the original series' last episode in 2016 posited that Cowell's departure in particular triggered the "series of unfortunate events" that led to the show's downtick in ratings, as well as a general lack of interest from viewers.

The very popular show who managed to run for no less than 15 years is set to have its revival premiere next year, sometime in March.
