Andre Burakovsky had a goal and an assist for Washington, which trails the defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins 3-2 in the best-of-seven series with Pittsburgh set to host Game 6 on Monday night.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. - He hit the ice on Friday morning, without the yellow noncontact jersey that injured Pittsburgh Penguins players wear if they're not to be hit.

Will the Washington Capitals stay alive when they face the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at 7:15PM ET in Game 5 of their series?

While he's cheering on the Rangers to eliminate the Sens in this second-round series, he doesn't think he'll be at Game 5 here in Ottawa on Saturday. "We know he's a unsafe player".

"It's not really up to me".

"We gave them life", Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said.

"We'll see how he responds (to practicing) and go from there", Sullivan said.

The force involved for this concussion was a cross-check by Niskanen, which immediately followed Alex Ovechkin's stick hitting the back of Crosby's head.

Crosby has a history of concussions and missed the first six games this season. Trotz talked about spreading offense throughout the lineup, and his flipping Burakovsky and Ovechkin allowed for Washington's first goal from its bottom two lines in five games.

You can't keep Sidney Crosby down. He skated in full gear Thursday and took part in a full-contact practice Friday, taking rushes with usual linemates Jake Guentzel and Hornqvist. "I think we had the right mindset coming in, and I think we went into the third with the right mentality and just weren't able to grab that momentum back when they tied it. I have a lot of belief in our staff here that they're going to do everything in their power to make sure I'm good when I come back, and I trust them". Some people, including several Penguins players, believed it was a dirty play at that Niskanen should've seen supplemental discipline on top the major penalty and game misconduct he received. There's no faulting Capitals coach Barry Trotz for making line changes in an attempt to spark his team, but moving Ovechkin down to line No. 3 is certainly a statement.

Crosby had no issue with his run-in with Ovechkin, calling it "standard" practice when you skate in front of the opponent's net.

Kuznetsov left out the part in which he would score, too, on a shot with no angle, a shot that saved the Capitals' season for at least one more game. "Things happen fast out there".

Crosby is familiar with this scenario, even if no concussion is the same. Center Sidney Crosby returned after missing Game 4 with a concussion sustained in Game 3. Like Crosby, Shearys status is day to day.

Penguins goaltender Matt Murray, who hasn't played since suffering a lower-body injury before Game 1 of Pittsburgh's first-round series against Columbus, worked out on his own before the team's formal practice began. Marc-Andre Fleury has also played brilliantly in what might be his last postseason run with the Penguins.

Crosby weighed in with his opinion on Friday, and he took the high road in doing so. “We trust our medical team, and when they tell us hes OK, were confident Sids good.”.
