The Wildcats will also know whether they will be given one of the eight national seeds, which would guarantee a super regional at Cliff Hagan Stadium if United Kingdom wins the regional tournament.

Arkansas was one of 16 schools selected to host a NCAA Regional. The other hosts are Baton Rouge (LSU), Chapel Hill (North Carolina), Clemson (Clemson), Corvallis (Oregon State), Fayetteville (Arkansas), Gainesville (Florida), Hattiesburg (Southern Miss). The regional begins Friday (or Thursday if Brigham Young is in the Clemson Regional) at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

After losing their final two games of the regular season, the Arizona Wildcats kind of played their way out of a potential Regional hosting position.

The rest of the 64-team field will be revealed at 11 a.m. on Monday during the NCAA selection show on ESPN2.

The ACC led the country in regional host sites, followed closely by the SEC with four teams chosen as hosts.

Throughout the year, major national sites consistently projected Arizona either in its own Regional or the Long Beach Regional, but things have changed here at the end of the year.

Button surprised by Alonso's Indy move
Helio Castroneves, of Brazil, climbs the safety fence with members of his pit crew after winning the Indy 500 in 2009. Alonso will start from fifth place on the grid after clocking an average speed of 231.3 miles per hour (372.241 kph).

Other hosts are Southern Mississippi of Conference USA, Long Beach State of the Big West and Houston of the American Athletic Conference.

Baseball America's latest projections put MSU as the No. 2 seed in a possible regional at Clemson.

SEC Coach of the Year Nick Mingione stated the Wildcats' case for a national seed after UK's 3-1 loss to SC on Friday.

Season ticket holders and Red Raider Club members have until Tuesday, May 30, at 5 p.m. CDT, to request all-session tickets to the regional.

Each regional will feature four teams playing in a double-elimination format.

As a regional host, UH (40-19) - victor of the automatic bid from the American Athletic Conference - is guaranteed home-field advantage at least through the first round of the postseason.
