Now a Canadian teacher has taken the trolling to the next level, by creating her own cardboard cutout Spicer to place among the bushes.
Meanwhile, Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway, a once-ubiquitous presence on cable news, who made several appearances in the hours following Comey's firing, was as of Wednesday morning traveling in New England for her work addressing opioid abuse.
Rep. Adam Schiff, ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which is investigating the Russian Federation connections to last year's election, called Trump's tweet "extraordinary".
One veteran Federal Bureau of Investigation supervisor said that although he found Comey to be well-liked and respected by most agents, there was also growing concern that his actions, "right or wrong", resulted in an unwanted focus on the Federal Bureau of Investigation in recent months. Since tweeting out his statement on Comey's firing Tuesday night, he has only tweeted twice - once announcing that Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit the White House, and once linking to an op-ed on the benefits of trade for America's farmers.
A member of the House Oversight Committee, Krishnamoorthi said in a letter to the White House Counsel Donald F McGahn after the United States president tweeted about tapes yesterday in the morning.
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, a Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, asked the White House in writing to produce any tapes to which Trump referred.
Karl also rose the ethical sticking point of whether it was appropriate for Trump to ask Comey if he was under investigation.
But once he emerged, Spicer refused to be interviewed on camera, telling reporters to turn off the lights, and answering many questions with, "I don't know".
Mom hits son who didn't give her Mother's Day card
The Spartanburg Police Department was called to a disturbance on the 100 Block of Amos Street in Upstate early Thursday evening. The children told authorities that their mother hits them all the time and that they're afraid of her.
"Trump doesn't like his people to look weak", a Trump donor was quoted as saying. Since his infamous first briefing in January in which he lectured reporters on Trump's inauguration crowd size in a freakish ritual of favor-currying, Spicer has struggled through a series of painful missteps and meme-worthy gaffes.
According to both AP and the New York Times, Trump has directed his anger at the bipartisan fallout from Comey's firing onto his communications team. And he has been obsessed with US government surveillance aimed at Russian targets past year that swept some of his associates, including Michael Flynn, into the intelligence net.
Oof. Spicer also refused to expand on the controversial politician's latest Twitter rant and declined to comment on whether POTUS or any of his staffers have recorded private conversations in the West Wing, specifically the Oval Office.
With journalists and authors, in particular, Trump's caution as a business tycoon prior to his life in politics was memorable, if also par for the course inside NY executive suites. Taping conversations became a showy form of insurance.
Trump is viewing his "public protectors" as "somewhat disposable".
He continued: "I mean, really?".
Apparently angered by criticism of the different accounts of the sacking, Mr Trump used another of his tweets on Friday to say: "As a very active President with lots of things happening, it is not possible for my surrogates to stand at podium with flawless accuracy!"
